Big party for 90-year-old Liliana Cavani.
In the Cruise Hall of the Ministry of Culture to celebrate her, in front of a giant white cake with red roses on it, many Italian artists while Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano and Undersecretary Vittorio Sgarbi wished the great Italian director, who will have her birthday on January 12.
There were, among others, Marco Bellocchio, Paolo Sorrentino, Paolo Virzì, Pupi Avati, Michele Placido, Giovanna Ralli, Susanna Nicchiarelli, Cristina Comencini, and then again Fausto Bertinotti, Luciano Violante, Walter Veltroni, Gianni Letta, producer Pietro Valsecchi, poet Barbara Alberti, the director of the Experimental Center Marta Donzelli, that of the Rome Film Festival Paola Malanga as well as undersecretary Gianmarco Mazzi.
“A successful and fun celebration,” Sangiuliano commented at the end, “it felt like a student assembly. Even with surprise announcement: the director of the Quirino Theater, Neapolitan actor, producer and director Geppy Gleijeses broke the news of Cavani’s return to stage direction with a co-production with Florence’s La Pergola Theater for Sei personaggi in cerca di autore, making her even more surprised and delighted for a commitment scheduled for 2024 after she finishes working on and launching her new film, L’ordine del tempo, from physicist Carlo Rovelli’s bestseller, starring Claudia Gerini, Alessandro Gassmann, Edoardo Leo.
“An endless thank you.
